Oil Furnace Not Working?

• Check the fuse/breaker box for blown fuse or tripped breaker switch.
• Check the furnace on/off switch. This is generally close to the furnace; it may be located in the stairwell leading to the basement, or could be positioned near the ceiling. It looks like a light switch and is sometimes turned off by mistake, thereby shutting off power to the furnace.
• To see if the furnace has power, look for a furnace fan button or switch (usually located on the top right of the furnace). Activate the button/switch; if the fan starts or stops, the furnace is receiving power.
• Make sure you have oil in your tank by checking the oil level indicator (usually located on the top of your tank).
• Set furnace to call for heat (at least 5 degrees higher than current temp).
• Look for a “reset” button on the furnace, but press the reset button ONLY ONCE. The burner should start; wait 5 minutes to see if the furnace continues to run. If it continues, your problem may be solved. Do not press the reset button more than once; this can create further issues!

Propane Furnace Not Working?

• If you were not home when we made your propane delivery, the driver would have turned off the valve on your tank. Be sure to check the tank valve to ensure that it has been turned on.
• Due to the vast variety of propane appliances and models available, we recommend reviewing the troubleshooting section of your owner’s manual for quick tips.
